An authorisation to log in or request certificates on behalf of your company is issued for a specific time-period and must be renewed after expiration. After renewal, the authorisation is valid for 5 years. To renew your authorization, you may need submit letters of attorney again to proceed. Renewing an authorization is free of charge.

Please note that distinction is made between having a company administrator within the Digidentity environment, and not having a company administrator. This is indicated per the instructions below, look carefully to see which situation applies to you.
My authorisation has expired
If the authorisation has already expired, you will not be able to use your product until the authorisation has been renewed, and the product registration will change from “completed” to “incomplete”. Please select the option below that applies best to your situation.My company does not have a company administrator
If your company has not appointed a company administrator within Digidentity, you will need submit one or more letters of authorisation. The letters must be submitted by the authorised signatory stated on the letter.
Do you belong to a sole proprietorship, in which you the owner? Then you do not need to submit a letters of authorisation. The registration will be completed almost immediately.
Follow the steps below to extend the authorisation:
- Via a laptop or PC, go to my.digidentity.eu and log in
- Click on the 'Services' tab once you have signed im
- Click 'Continue’ on the incomplete purchase in the ‘Continue Registration’ section
- You will be redirected to the authorisation page, at which point new letters of authorisation will be created.
My company has a company administrator
If your company has appointed a company administrator with Digidentity, he or she can approve the user's authorisation. However, the user must go through a number of steps.Steps for the user:
- Via a laptop or PC, go to my.digidentity.eu and log in
- Click on the 'Services' tab once you have signed im
- Click 'Continue’ on the incomplete purchase in the ‘Continue Registration’ section
Steps for the company administrator:
- Via a laptop or PC, go to the Self Service Portal and log in
- Click on the relevant organisation
- Click on the 'Users' tab
- Click on the relevant user
- Click on the 'Approve' button
I am the company administrator for my company
Are you a company administrator and has your authorisation expired? Unfortunately, you cannot approve your own authorisation. Follow the steps below to renew the authorisation.
- Via a laptop or PC, go to my.digidentity.eu and log in
- Click on the 'Services' tab once you have signed im
- Click 'Continue’ on the incomplete purchase in the ‘Continue Registration’ section
- You will be redirected to the authorisation page, at which point new letters of authorisation will be created.
- Click on 'Download letters' to create new your letter(s) of authorisation.
Once the letters of authorisation have been submitted, you can resume your company administrator role.
My authorisation has not yet expired
If the authorisation is going to expire within 30 days, it can be extended before expiration. The steps to do so will depend on whether your organisation has appointed a company administrator.My company does not have a company administrator
To renew the expiring authorisation early without a company administrator, follow the steps below.- Via a laptop or PC, go to the Self Service Portal and log in
- Click on the relevant organisation
- On the 'Org and I' page, click on the relevant product (eHerkenning or Digidentity Certificate Manager) under the heading 'My Products'
- Click on the green 'Renew authorisation' button
- Click on the green 'Download' button for each letter and send it to the authorised signatories
My company has a company administrator
The company administrator can renew a user's authorisation before it is due to expire via the Self Service Portal. To do this, follow the steps below:- Via a laptop or PC, go to the Self Service Portal and log in
- Click on the relevant organisation
- Click on the 'Users' tab
- Click on the relevant user
- Click on 'Renew authorisation' for the expiring authorisation
I am the company administrator for my company
If you are the company administrator for your company, unfortunately you cannot approve your own authorisation. Wait until the authorisation has expired, and follow the steps as stated in the box 'My authorisation has expired'. If your company has multiple company administrators, another company administrator can renew your authorisation.
