Do you want to invite employees, manage authorisations, or approve requests? Then you need a Company Administrator product.
What can a Company Administrator do?
- Invite employees (for example for eHerkenning or eSignatures)
- Manage employee authorisations
- Set up and assign roles to employees
- Approve or reject employee requests
- Grant chain authorisations (to your intermediary)
- Request chain authorisations (as an intermediary)
- Access billing information
⚠ Important: Company Administrator products are not eHerkenning products
These products only provide administrative permissions within Digidentity. They cannot be used to log in to the Belastingdienst, UWV, municipalities, or any other service that requires eHerkenning.
If you need access to a service that requires eHerkenning, you must register for a separate eHerkenning product.
Digidentity offers two Company Administrator products:
Company Administrator Level 3
A free product that allows you to manage authorisations up to and including eHerkenning Level 3 (eIDAS Substantial).
Company Administrator Level 4
A paid product that allows you to manage authorisations up to and including eHerkenning Level 4 (eIDAS High).
Become a Company Administrator
To become a Company Administrator, register for one of the products above.
You do not need an eHerkenning product to become a Company Administrator.
Your organisation must have a valid Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) registration
- Start a Company Administrator registration.
- Complete the required verification and authorisation steps.
Why is authorisation required?
As a Company Administrator, you act on behalf of your organisation.
Company Administrators can invite users, manage authorisations, approve requests, and access company information.
Because these permissions affect the organisation and its users, authorisation from the organisation is required before Company Administrator access can be granted.
Can I approve other Company Administrators?
You can only approve other Company Administrators if:
- You have the Company Administrator Level 4 product.
- You selected the Approve administrators option during registration.
You can only approve requests from Company Administrators who are not requesting the ability to approve other Company Administrators.
For Company Administrators who should also be able to approve other Company Administrators, additional authorisation through authorisation letters is always required. This is the highest administrative permission within an organisation and must therefore always be approved by a legally authorised representative of the organisation.
Important:
Do you have Company Administrator Level 4 but are unable to approve other Company Administrators? If so, you likely did not select the Approve administrators option during registration.
In that case, you will need to submit a new Company Administrator Level 4 registration and select the correct option. You may also need to submit new authorisation documents.
Restrictions for Company Administrators
To protect the security of your organisation, certain restrictions apply to Company Administrators.
- You cannot approve your own authorisations, requests, or administrator applications.
- Only Company Administrators who selected the “Approve Administrators” option during their Company Administrator Level 4 registration can approve other Company Administrators.
- The ability to appoint other Company Administrators always requires additional authorisation through authorisation letters.
Multiple organisations
To manage multiple organisations, you must obtain Company Administrator access for each organisation separately.
