No, it is currently not possible to apply for an eHerkenning account with Digidentity using a Dutch residence permit.
Our identity verification process requires a Dutch identity document containing a BSN (Citizen Service Number). As residence permits do not display this number, we are unfortunately unable to accept them for registration.
Which documents can I use instead?
If you have a valid Dutch driving licence or an identity document issued by another European country, you may be able to use this to complete your registration.
To submit your identity document, follow these steps:
- Go to my.digidentity.eu on your computer and log in.
- Select the Products tab.
- Click Continue next to the product you wish to complete.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity document and complete your registration.
What if I don't have another identity document?
If you do not have a Dutch driving licence or a valid identity document issued by another European country, you will unfortunately be unable to complete your registration with Digidentity.
You can visit www.eherkenning.nl to find other recognised eHerkenning providers and check whether they offer alternative identification options for residence permit holders.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
