eHerkenning is used to securely access online services from many Dutch government organisations and other service providers on behalf of a business or organisation.
If you are trying to access one of the organisations or services below, you may need eHerkenning.
The organisation or service you want to access determines which eHerkenning level and authorisation you need.
Always check the requirements of the organisation or service before purchasing or changing your eHerkenning product.
Common organisations and services that use eHerkenning
- Belastingdienst – for services such as Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk, VAT returns, payroll taxes and other business tax matters.
- UWV – for the UWV Employer Portal (Werkgeversportaal) and services for employers.
- RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) – for Mijn RVO, subsidies, grants, schemes and other business services.
- RDW – for various business vehicle and registration services offered by RDW.
- Justis – including applications for a VOG (Certificate of Conduct / Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag) for employees, VOG RP applications and other Justis services.
- Dutch Customs (Douane) – including Mijn Douane, the EU Trader Portal and other customs services.
- DUO – for business and organisational services through Mijn DUO Zakelijk.
- Omgevingsloket / Digitaal Stelsel Omgevingswet (DSO) – for businesses and organisations submitting or managing environmental and planning applications.
- TenderNed – for businesses participating in public procurement and tenders.

The list above contains only some of the most commonly used organisations and services. Many other Dutch government organisations and service providers also use eHerkenning.

Do all employees use the same eHerkenning?
No. eHerkenning is personal. Each employee who needs to log in on behalf of the organisation must have their own eHerkenning and the appropriate authorisation for the service they need to access.
Having eHerkenning does not automatically give you access to every service. You must have the required eHerkenning level and the correct authorisation for the organisation or service you want to use.
