A 'certificate' with Digidentity is the login method provided to you in the Digidentity Wallet app, and may be accessed by entering your 5-digit PIN via the app. This certificate allows for electronic authorisation, providing you access to authorise your Qualified Electronic Signature. You can view your certificate under the 'Log In' screen in your Digidentity Wallet app.
During the registration process you will be asked to 'create' your certificate a total of two times. First as an extra layer of security to provide your account with a two-factor authentication method (you will be asked to provide the 5-digit PIN for your certificate every time you login).
The second time you are asked to 'create' your certificate (the final step of registration) is for the purpose of authenticating your signature now that your identity has been verified. Without this final step it would not be possible to use your Advanced or Qualified Electronic Signature.
