The identification method you need depends on the product you are registering for. Products requiring the highest level of identity assurance use identification through the NFC chip in your identity document.
Why is NFC identification required?
NFC allows the Digidentity Wallet app to securely read and verify the data stored in the chip of your identity document.
Because this information is read directly from the chip and verified electronically, NFC provides the highest level of assurance available in the remote identification process.
NFC identification may therefore be required by European standards, the eHerkenning scheme or an organisation using Digidentity’s identification services.
