What is a phishing email?
A phishing email is a fraudulent message designed to look like it comes from a trusted organisation. Its purpose is to trick you into sharing personal or sensitive information, such as identity documents, login details, or verification codes.
How can I recognise a phishing email?
Be cautious if an email:
- Asks you to share personal or sensitive information
- Creates urgency or pressure (for example, claims your account will be blocked)
- Contains unexpected links or attachments
- Uses generic greetings or contains spelling or grammar mistakes
- Comes from an unfamiliar or unofficial sender address
What should I do if I receive a suspicious email?
- Do not reply to the email
- Do not click links or download attachments
- Do not share any personal information
- Delete the email or report it via Digidentity support channels
What if I already interacted with the email?
If you believe you may have clicked a link or shared information, please contact Digidentity support as soon as possible so we can advise you on next steps.
