Do you receive a message that you are not authorised when trying to log in with eHerkenning?
In most cases, this does not mean there is a technical issue with your eHerkenning account. The message usually means that you do not have authorisation for the service you are trying to access.
- Are you using eHerkenning Level 3 Belastingdienst?
- Are you trying to log in to a service other than Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk?
- Has your company administrator limited your authorisations?
- Does the service require a higher eHerkenning level than you have?
If one of the situations above applies to you, the information below will likely explain why you are receiving this message.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I receive a message that I am not authorised?
This message is usually shown by the organisation you are trying to log in to. It means that you do not have authorisation for that specific service.
The most common causes are:
- You are using eHerkenning Level 3 Belastingdienst for a service other than Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk.
- You do not have the required authorisation for the service.
- Your company administrator has restricted your access to certain services.
- The service requires a higher eHerkenning level than you currently have.
I have eHerkenning Level 3 Belastingdienst. Why can't I log in?
eHerkenning Level 3 Belastingdienst is a specific subscription that can only be used for Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk.
If you try to use this subscription to log in to another organisation, such as UWV, RVO, a municipality, province or another service provider, you may receive a message that you are not authorised for that service.
In that case, you may need eHerkenning Level 3 Complete or another subscription that provides access to the required service.
Can the eHerkenning level be the reason?
Yes. Not every service accepts the same eHerkenning level.
Some organisations may require eHerkenning Level 3, while you may have eHerkenning Level 2+. In that case, you will not be able to access the service.
Please check with the relevant organisation which eHerkenning level is required to log in.
How can I check which eHerkenning product I have?
Open your Digidentity Wallet app and check your product cards. Here you can see which eHerkenning subscription is linked to your account.
If your subscription is listed as eHerkenning Level 3 Belastingdienst, you can only use it for Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk.
My colleague can log in, but I cannot. Why?
It is possible that different authorisations have been assigned to different users within your organisation.
A company administrator can grant users access to certain services, but can also restrict this access. This means that a colleague may be able to access a service while you receive a message that you are not authorised.
Please contact your organisation's company administrator to check which authorisations have been assigned to your account.
How can I get access to the service?
If your organisation has a company administrator, please contact them first. The company administrator can check whether you have the correct authorisations.
If you are using eHerkenning Level 3 Belastingdienst and want to log in to organisations other than Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk, your subscription may need to be upgraded to eHerkenning Level 3 Complete.
