The Digidentity Wallet app is a secure application which you may be required to use during your registration with us. It can be downloaded onto a compatible smartphone or tablet via the Apple 'App Store' or Android 'Google Play Store'.
When proving your identity, you may be directed to use the app in a number of situations depending on the service you wish to access and the type of documents you have to hand. The Digidentity web page will automatically ask you to use the app should you need it to complete your verification.
The app is used as a secure method to upload photos of your documents and yourself to our system for verification. Once we receive the uploaded photos, they are checked using various government-approved sources to make sure that they are valid. The app can also be used for two-factor authentication and to sign documents (for eSignature subscribers).
Security is taken extremely seriously at Digidentity, so our systems are continually checked, improved and updated to ensure that your personal data is protected. As part of our security precautions, when uploading a document using the Digidentity Wallet app, your information is not saved to the device where you have the app installed.
Currently the Digidentity Wallet app can be used to verify the following documents as long as they are valid:
- A passport
- A driving licence
- A National ID card (non-UK issued)
The Digidentity web page will automatically direct you to upload a document if it is necessary in order to complete your verification.
If you have any further concerns about using our app, please contact our service desk.
