To use the Digidentity Wallet securely, you need a smartphone that meets our minimum security requirements.
The app only works on devices with an operating system that still receives security updates.
Are you seeing a message that your device is not supported?
First, check whether your phone can be updated to the latest software version of iOS/Android.
Does that not work?
Then your device is unfortunately no longer supported by the Digidentity Wallet.
Minimum system requirements
The Digidentity Wallet currently supports:
- iPhone: iOS 18 or newer
- Android: Android 11 or newer
- A working camera and selfie camera
If your device cannot be updated to this version, the app cannot be used.
What can you do?
If your device is not supported, you have the following options:
1. Update your phone
Check whether your device can be updated to a newer version of iOS or Android.
2. Use another device
Install the Digidentity Wallet on a newer device that meets the requirements.
Why are older devices not supported?
Digidentity is a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP). This means we are legally required to protect your data at a high security level.
Older operating systems often no longer receive security updates from Apple or Google. This creates vulnerabilities that can be exploited.
For this reason, the Digidentity Wallet only works on devices that still receive active security updates.
Our security standards are comparable to those used by banking apps and other digital identity applications.
Which devices are not supported?
The Digidentity Wallet does not work on:
- Devices without recent security updates
- Rooted or modified devices
- Phones with customised operating systems (e.g. some Oppo/Xiaomi devices)
- Android Go devices
On some older devices (such as certain Samsung models), issues may occur with notifications, which can prevent successful login.
