To use the Digidentity Wallet, you need a smartphone that meets our minimum security requirements.
The Digidentity Wallet only works on devices running an operating system that still receives security updates. This is necessary to properly protect your identity and personal data. For this reason, we do not support older versions of iOS or Android that no longer receive security updates.
Our security standards are comparable to those used by banking apps and other digital identity applications.
Minimum system requirements
The Digidentity Wallet currently supports:
- iPhone: iOS 18 or newer
- Android: Android 11 or newer
If your smartphone cannot be updated to this version, the app unfortunately cannot be installed or used on that device.
What can you do?
If your device is not compatible, you have the following options:
1. Check if your phone can be updated
Go to your phone’s settings and check if a software update is available.
2. Use a newer device
If your phone no longer receives updates, you can install the Digidentity Wallet on a newer smartphone that meets the minimum system requirements.
Why are older devices not supported?
Older operating systems often no longer receive security updates from Apple or Google, which can create security risks.
Because the Digidentity Wallet is used for digital identification and sensitive personal data, we apply the same security standards as banking apps and other high-security applications.
