This pertains to the Automotive Authentication certificate. If you have lost the PFX file of your PKIo SBR certificate, please refer to the following: I have lost my PFX file or forgotten the password for the PFX file (PKIo SBR)
The Automotive Authentication certificate can only be requested once. It cannot be downloaded again. If you have forgotten your password or lost the PFX file, you will need to request the Automotive Authentication certificate again.
The Automotive Authentication certificate is generated in PFX format during the certificate request. The file is named 'Automotive Authentication [your email address].pfx' and is saved in the Downloads folder of your PC or laptop.
In the certificate overview, you can only download the PEM file. A PEM file contains only the public key and cannot be used for logging in.
If you can no longer find the PFX file, you will need to retrieve the certificate again. To do this, please follow the steps below
- Log in to the Self Service Portal.

- Repeat this step
- Click on 'Next'
- Click on 'Confirm details'
- Click on 'Generate for me'
- Click on 'Save certificate'
- Create and confirm a password
- Click 'Save Certificate' again.
Costs
If you have lost the Automotive Authentication certificate and need to collect it again, you will have to pay the associated costs. However, if you collect it within the same calendar month, you will not need to pay again. It is your responsibility to store the PFX file and password securely.
