Each year, the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) will send you a physical letter by post asking you to provide your proof of life.
This letter contains a QR code. You start the process by scanning this QR code using the camera on your smartphone.
Important: You do not need a Digidentity account. Simply follow the instructions in the SVB letter.
Submitting your proof of life is a one-time verification. You do not create a Digidentity account during this process.
Submit your proof of life
To start the process:
- Open the camera on your smartphone
- Scan the QR code in the SVB letter
- Follow the steps on your screen
During the process, you will be asked to:
- Scan your identity document
- Take a selfie for identity verification
Once completed, you will see a confirmation. You can then close the app.
Do you need the Digidentity app afterwards?
No. After completing the process, you do not need to keep or reuse the Digidentity app, unless you use other products purchased directly from Digidentity.
If you open the Digidentity app without scanning the QR code from the SVB letter, you will not see the correct process.
Therefore, do not create an account in the Digidentity app for your proof of life.
What happens after submission?
The SVB will review your proof of life. If everything is correct, you will not receive a confirmation. The SVB will only contact you if they have any questions.
