After completing your identity verification with Digidentity, you must return to your General Medical Council (GMC) Online account to confirm that you have completed the process.
Important: The GMC will not receive confirmation that your identity check has been completed until you return to your GMC Online account and confirm the process.
What do I need to do?
Log in to GMC Online, open My ID Checks, select Digital ID Check and confirm that you completed the registration process with Digidentity.
How do I confirm my completed identity verification with the GMC?
- Log in to your GMC Online account.
- On the GMC homepage, open the My ID Checks section.
- Select Digital ID Check.
- You will be asked whether you completed the registration process with Digidentity.
- Confirm that you completed the process.
How do I know if the confirmation was successful?
Once you have confirmed completion, the following message will appear in your GMC Online account:
“Thanks, we are verifying your ID Check.”
If you can see this message, no further action is required from you at this stage.
What happens after I see the verification message?
Once the message appears, the GMC will begin reviewing your identity check.
You can then wait for the GMC to contact you directly with any updates or next steps.
