A Professional Certificate for Accountants is a qualified certificate specifically designed for Registered Accountants (RA) and Accountant-Administration Consultants (AA).
It allows accountants to digitally sign official accountant statements and Standard Business Reporting (SBR) documents directly from their accounting software.
The signature is a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) and meets the highest requirements of the eIDAS Regulation.
With a Professional Certificate, you can:
- Sign SBR reports.
- Digitally sign accountant statements.

- Demonstrate that you are registered as an RA or AA accountant.
Difference from a standard eSignature
A standard Qualified Electronic Signature is typically used to sign PDF documents.
A Professional Certificate for Accountants is specifically designed for accounting software and the signing of SBR documents in XBRL format.
Why does Digidentity verify my NBA registration?
Every RA and AA title is linked to a unique registration number.
During the application process, Digidentity verifies both your identity and your registration in the NBA register.
The NBA maintains the official register of accountants and confirms whether you are authorised to use the RA or AA title.

- Click Register now for the product you require.
- Follow the steps to create your account.
- Accept the terms and conditions, enter your details, and click Continue.
- Open the Digidentity Wallet app and select Scan QR code to upload your identity document.
- Follow the instructions in the app to complete your registration.
I already have a Digidentity account
- Go to my.digidentity.eu and sign in.
- Open the Products tab.
- Click Buy now next to the Professional Certificate you require.
- Follow the instructions on screen.
What information is verified?
To issue a Professional Certificate, we verify your identity and, where applicable, your company details.

Personal information
We verify your identity using your identity document and selfies. Please ensure that your name matches your identity document exactly. -
Company information
For some products, we also verify your organisation. We recommend using an email address associated with your company's domain name. -
NBA registration
After your identity has been verified, we validate your registration with the NBA. This process typically takes 1 to 5 working days.
When can I use my certificate?
Once your identity and NBA registration have been approved, your Professional Certificate is ready to use within your accounting software.

What is the difference between Professional Certificate Accountants and Accountants Enterprise?
The primary difference is that the Enterprise version includes an additional company verification step for invoicing purposes.
During registration for the Enterprise product, you will be asked to provide your Chamber of Commerce registration details.
Verification is performed using the organisation information and domain name registered with the Chamber of Commerce.
