If you have been filling out the Digidentity registration web page on the same smartphone/tablet where you have the Digidentity app installed, you will need to use the 'Open app' button on our web page to start uploading a document. You will not need to scan a QR code in this case.
Finding the 'Open app' button
If you are no longer on the Digidentity registration page, please go to the following link on the device you where you have the app installed: https://www.signin.service.gov.uk/paused/digidentity, select the GOV.UK service you require, and provide your Digidentity login details.
Starting your upload
Once logged in, you should see a page titled 'Prove your identity' with a list of three steps below it. On the third step 'Open the Digidentity app from here', tap the 'Open app' button. The Digidentity app should then open automatically on your screen and ask you to select the document you would like to upload. You can then proceed with taking your photos by following the app's instructions.
After you have successfully uploaded your photos, please return to the registration web page and wait for the photos to be checked (this can sometimes take a short while).
If this is the last part of your verification process,you should be informed that Digidentity has successfully verified your identity once the document is accepted. You will also receive an automatic email confirmation that your verification has been completed with steps you can follow to log in to the GOV.UK services.
In the case that your document cannot be verified, we advise you to repeat the steps above to retry the upload. Should verification continue to be unsuccessful or if you have any other issues, please contact our service desk.
