If you have been filling out the Digidentity registration web page on the same smartphone/tablet you have the Digidentity app installed on, you will need to use the 'Open app' button on our web page to start uploading a document. The app should then pop up on your device to start taking the document photos.
If the OPEN APP button does not work when you tap it, we suggest checking the following:
- Unfortunately the Open app button will not respond if accessing our web page via the Google Search app. We recommend using a web browser such as Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
- Ensure you have downloaded the correct app, called 'Digidentity'
- Close the Digidentity app fully to make sure it is not running in the background. Then return to your registration to try tapping the OPEN APP button again.
- Make sure you have opened the Digidentity registration web page on the same device where you have the app installed.
To return to our registration web page, please go to https://www.signin.service.gov.uk/paused/digidentity, select the GOV.UK service you require, and provide your Digidentity login details. You should then be returned to the Prove your identity page where you will find the 'Open app' button.
