If you are unable to verify online with Digidentity, it is still possible to continue with your Universal Credit claim, but you will need to organise an alternative by contacting Universal Credit directly.
Due to COVID-19 measures, the Department of Work and Pensions has adjusted claim procedures. For this reason Digidentity is unable to assist with any further information regarding your claim. For the most up-to-date information on how to proceed, please contact a Universal Credit advisor via:
- Telephone: 0800 328 5644
- Textphone: 0800 328 1344
- NGT text relay – (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 328 5644
- Welsh language: 0800 328 1744
These lines are available Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm. You may find that the call queue is long due to the number of claimants at this time. Should this be the case, Universal Credit advises staying on the line as this is currently the fastest way to proceed with your claim.
While you are waiting for a response, you may also find more information by returning to your Universal Credit account. To do so, please follow the steps below:
- Log back into your Universal Credit account via https://www.gov.uk/sign-in-universal-credit
- In your To-do list, select the option 'I can't do this online'
