If you enter your password incorrectly too many times in a row on the Digidentity login page, your account will be temporarily blocked for 15 minutes. Once this temporary block has expired you can try to log in again, however if this happens multiple times in a row, you will receive a message that your account has been blocked.
If your account has been permanently blocked, unfortunately our support desk will not be able to unblock it for you. This means that you will need to register a new Verify account to continue to access GOV.UK services.
As it's only possible to have one Digidentity account per email address, there are two ways you can continue from here:
Do you have another email address you can use?
If you do have another email address you can use, to create a new Digidentity account please go to https://www.signin.service.gov.uk/start, select the GOV.UK service you require from the list, and select that you are using Verify for the first time.
Do you only have the one email address?
In order for you to create a new Digidentity account using the same email address, we will need to deactivate your original account. In this case, please send an email to email@example.com from the email address your Digidentity account is registered to, including the following information:
- Confirmation that your account is blocked and that you request for us to deactivate the account in order to register again
- Your full name (including any middle names)
- Your date of birth
Once our team have received this request, we will proceed with the deactivation and contact you as soon as it is possible to re-register.
