To access your account, you need to successfully log in using your email address/username, password plus the code sent to your two-factor authentication device. Or, if you have forgotten your password or two-factor method, you will require the account recovery code in order to regain access.
You may lose access to your account for the following reasons:
- You have permanently blocked your account
- You have lost both password and two-factor authentication code method
- You no longer have access to the original account recovery code you are being asked for
If you cannot access your account for any of the reasons above, unfortunately you will need to re-register and complete the verification process again.
Option 1: Re-register using an alternative email address
You can start the Digidentity Verify process again as a first time user, from https://www.digidentity.eu/govuk/start.
Option 2: Re-register using the same email address as before
If you don't have another email address to register with, we don't want to lose you as a user; for this reason, we can take steps to immediately deactivate the profile you have created with us. This may keep a certain amount of account information of file (if you created the account before the end of 2017), but will release your email address for re-registration. Please note that this action cannot be reversed.
Before we do this, we require you to send an email to email@example.com from your registered email address, stating the following:
* Your full name
* Your date of birth
* Confirmation that you agree to have the profile immediately deactivated in order to re-register using the same email address
Once we receive this information from you, we will proceed with the deactivation, and contact you again as soon as it is possible to re-register.
