RemoteID serves as a remote identity verification alternative to the Face-to-Face check. It is available for the PKIo Digidentity Certificate Manager, and eSGN Qualified products; however, it is not supported for eHerkenning level 4 Remote.
To complete the RemoteID registration, you will need the following::
- A passport equipped with an NFC chip, identifiable by the square symbol located at the bottom of the front cover.
- A smartphone with an NFC reader:
- iPhone; model 7 or later with at least iOS version 14
- Android device with NFC reader; Android version 9 or higher.
- For Android devices, a 'secure keystore' is also required. This is a chip that stores data securely within your device. Unfortunately, there is no clear guideline for this regarding Android devices. Most 'Flagship' (premium models) devices have such a chip. We are currently working on a way to clarify this for registration.
